You and your son or daughter are invited to participate in a special event called Wonderfully Made! Open to children in the 5th and 6th grades, Wonderfully Made is a United Methodist resource that offers preteens and their parents an opportunity to begin the important conversations about bodies, human growth, sexuality, reproduction and relationships from a Christian perspective. It will offer both you and your child an opportunity to learn, grow, and celebrate the fact that we have each been wonderfully made by God.
Using a highly interactive approach to learning, Wonderfully Made is a lot of fun for everyone involved! Parents and students each have individual meetings and time together, which creates trusting, safe environments for kids to ask questions, parents to answer those questions, and give families tools to continue these conversations at home.
We are excited that Kelly Duncan will be our facilitator again this year! Kelly has a long history of experience with Children’s and Youth Ministries and has facilitated Wonderfully Made throughout the NGUMC for many years.
The schedule is as follows. We do ask that all families commit to attending all sessions:
Parent Meeting – Thursday, January 30: 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. (only parents attend; children cannot).
Student Meetings – Friday, January 31: 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. (dinner served to students), Saturday, February 1: 9:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
Students and Parents Meeting – Saturday, February 1: 12:15 – 2:00 p.m. (lunch served for all)
Childcare will be provided on Thursday and/or Saturday if needed. Reservations required. There is no cost for childcare.
