Part of our church vision is to be a welcoming church growing in Christian faith and serving in love. You can be a part of that vision on Sunday mornings with our Hospitality Team! Serve as a greeter before worship and Sunday School, be on the coffee team, or help with our valet parking for those with mobility concerns. Hospitality Ministry

The Hospitality Ministry at MFUMC provides hospitality to guests and members of the church. We help provide a welcoming atmosphere through our greeters and ushers on Sunday mornings, and provide décor and set up for special events and other church events as needed. Our goal is to provide an open and friendly environment for those who visit our church.
Parking Ministry

Sundays, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
30-minute to 1-hour shifts are available.
Provide valet-style parking service and assistance for members who have difficulty walking and getting to and from worship and Sunday school. Training is provided.
Arranging Flowers
Each Sunday, we break down the flowers used in worship into individual vases for delivery to the hospitals and homebound members. Volunteers arrange flowers immediately after worship on Sunday morning.
Acolytes

The word acolyte comes from the Greek word akolouthos, meaning companion, attendant, or helper. The acolyte ministry dates back to the Old Testament of the Bible, where the prophet Samuel is seen assisting Eli, the Levite priest, and Elisha is seen assisting Elijah the Prophet. Our acolyte program is a wonderful way for the children of our church from fourth grade up to actively participate in Sunday Worship services. An acolyte serves at the altar of God, assisting the ministers, and helping everyone prepare for worship. The “Light of Christ” is brought in to Worship by the acolyte and the “Light” is then taken out at the end of the service to signify taking the love of Christ to the world. Encouraging our children to serve lets them know that worship is important, and people of all ages can serve.
Acolyte Recognition Sunday
We set aside time in worship to recognize our acolytes and the contributions they make. Week in and week out, these young people offer us God’s light, God’s word, and God’s love through the symbols they present in worship: candles, the Bible, and the cross. Through their dedication, our experience of worship is made visible, and their growth as Christian servants is encouraged.
Acolyte Training
Students in 4th grade or higher are invited to be a part of the Acolyte Ministry at MFUMC. An informational meeting will take place for new acolytes, Bible Bearers, and Crucifers, as well as their parents, during the school year.
