Children's Choirs are here again, and how sweet the sound! Choir is for ages pre-K to 5th grade and continues to be a way for your children to be in communion with God's message, to offer praises to God, and to bring joy and beauty to this community of faith. Wednesdays are when our church's choirs rehearse. We sing throughout the year; Sunday schedules will be sent out upon registration. While the choirs often sing together (as well as with the youth and adult choirs), the groups are divided thusly: 4-5K (Cherub Choir), 1st and 2nd grade (Carol Choir); 3rd-5th grade (Chorister Choir). Here are their teachers and room numbers:

Cherub Choir (4-5k): Room 251 with Jim Broussard, Director of Music, 4:30 - 5:15 p.m.
Carol Choir (1st-2nd grade): Room 252, with Brian Parks, Assoc. Dir. of Music & Organist, 4:30 - 5:25 p.m.
Chorister Choir (3rd-5th grade): Room 263, with Catherine Moulton, Music Associate and Director of Youth Choir, 4:30 - 5:25 p.m.

If you are interested in the choir bus program, please indicate that during registration and let us know what school your child/ren attend/s. The buses pick up at dismissal and go directly to the church. We are currently staffed for one bus (from West Side Elementary), but will be adding two more -- for Hickory Hills and A.L. Burruss -- after Labor Day, when studies and supper at the church begin.

Each Wednesday, programming begins at 3:30 with music demonstrations, guests, and drumming. At 4:00, we begin Voice for Life training. This is the curriculum of the Royal School of Church Music. All children may attend. There is a $15 fee if your child would like to have their own workbooks to take examinations and attain medals and certificates corresponding with each level. Enrollment for that is rolling, so you can decide your level of commitment whenever you like. Choir proper begins at 4:30 and runs to 5:15 p.m. for 4-5k, and 5:25 p.m. for 1st-5th grade. Please pick up at your children's respective choir rooms.

After Labor Day, Church Family Supper returns from 5:15 - 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday nights in the Family Life Hall. This is a great way to meet folks, engage in fellowship, and have a great meal with your children after long days of school, work, and music!
