A short master class series designed to help prepare 5th and 6th grade students for their school drama program auditions. The information they learn can also be applied to summer camp auditions, auditions for roles in a show, etc.
These classes are available to current participants of our children and youth programs who are in the 5th and 6th grade. They are welcome to invite two guests who are not participants in those programs to join them in this class! REGISTER HERE
CLASS SCHEDULE:
-Crash Course: Sunday, February 4th from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. How to choose and prepare a song and monologue; how to do a slate
Optional: Dance from 3:30 p.m. to 4:25 p.m.; working on basic movements that typically appear in an audition and going over ways to make your dance audition the best you can in the time you have.
*Between class 1 and 2, students will choose their monologue and song for the audition and work on them at home based on what they learned in the first class. The more work they do on their own between class one and two, the more they’ll get out of the second class. If their school has not posted up the audition material options by then, they can use what is currently on the MSGA website from last year instead, since it will be relatively similar material for either school.
-Crash Course: Sunday, February 25th from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. How to make your song and monologue the best you can in the time you have.
Optional: Dance from 3:30 p.m. to 4:25 p.m.; working on basic movements that typically appear in an audition and going over ways to make your dance audition the best you can in the time you have.
-Full mock audition: Sunday, March 3rd from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., including dance.
All classes will be in the dance studio at MFUMC.
