Father's Day Speaker

Rev. Dan Brown is a retired United Methodist Minister. Having served for 44 years in the North a Georgia Conference, he retired in July of 2020. He has served a wide variety of churches, including a church that had an average attendance of eight and he retired from Dunwoody UMC, a church with a membership at the time of over 5000. He has served as a District Superintendent, taught courses at Reinhardt and Young Harris College and has served on the Board of Trustees of both Reinhardt and LaGrange College.

He and his wife, Carol have two children and five grandchildren. Their son and daughter-in-law Chris and Ashley, and their two children, Grace and Meredith, are members here at Marietta. Their daughter, Kathryn, husband Scott, and their three children, Max, Ellie, and Abby live in Raleigh. Dan and Carol have been at Marietta 1st since April of 2021 and Carol joined later that December.

In retirement, Dan enjoys woodworking, golf, swimming, boating, occasionally teaching Sunday School and being involved with the North Georgia Conference and LaGrange College. He continues to do On-Boardings for ministers of New Churches, occasionally preaches at churches throughout the Conference, serves on the North Georgia Conference Committee on Investigation and he is the Chair of the Advancement Committee with the Board of Trustees at LaGrange.

Dan and Carol are active in the John Strother SS Class, and love the church.
