Care

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of
compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles,
so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves
have received from God.
     2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Congregational Care Contact Volunteer Ministry

At First United Methodist Church of Marietta, The Congregational Care Contact Ministry primarily tends to the needs of those in our congregation that are homebound or in assisted living/nursing home facilities.  Volunteers to this ministry visit these members of our church and help keep them connected.  They should receive flowers, cards and/or a monthly visits that let them know that they are still an important part of this congregation.
If you are interested in becoming a part of the Congregational Care Ministry, there are several areas where you can volunteer.

VISITING & CALLING
ASSISTED LIVING/HOMEBOUND

Make one visit/call per month to assigned members especially remembering their birthdays, anniversaries, or other special occasions. Update them on key events currently happening in the Church and provide companionship.

WRITING NOTES
TO ASSISTED LIVING/HOMEBOUND

Write one note per month to assigned members bringing them up-to-date on one or two things that are happening currently at the Church (send them a special note on their birthday or anniversary).  This is a small way to let them know they are being thought of.

ARRANGING & DELIVERING FLOWERS TO ASSISTED LIVING/HOMEBOUND
Our flower arrangers volunteer take the flowers from the Sunday service and arrange individual vases that will be delivered by the visitation volunteers.  Although these are small gestures, they mean a great deal to those who receive them.

To volunteer or get more information on any of the above please email Elaine Raines
or call at 7709-429-7800 ext. 7813.
